B Roll

When (say) “This week’s Antique Road Show comes to you from the beautiful town of Porthmadog” the first thing the producers do is phone up the tourist board and ask if they’ve got any footage of Porthmadog (for example).

Big wide landscapes, sweeping aerials, local attractions, festivals, sports, events, cultural landmarks – you get the picture. They want to ‘up’ their production values at minimal cost and Visit Wales wants to get its product on the telly, so it’s a TV marriage made in heaven. Except it’s actually made at Ocicat.

This B Roll is editor-friendly footage with location sound (on the ground), filmed to order in full HD, cut long, polished and output in various formats for worldwide use and distributed free. So far we have filmed and produced 10 hours of Master B Roll from all over Wales. Here’s a random selection - check out the train aerial (3rd shot in) and imagine a Cowboy Western orchestral score.
